I Am Currently:

County Councillor for The Bloxham Division comprising the villages of Adderbury, Bloxham, Bodicote, Milcombe and Milton

I have served as the elected member since 1989.

Leader of Oxfordshire County Council

I have served as Leader of the Council since 5 November 2001

A Board Member of the South East England Development Agency

I was appointed by the Secretary of State in December 2009

 Vice-Chairman of The Local Government Association Community Wellbeing Board

and Chairman of the Sustainable Communities Act Selector Panel

The Wellbeing Board is concerned with Adult Social Care;  the Sustainable Communities Panel considers bids under the legislation and makes recommendations to the Secretary of State

 A Patron of the Oxfordshire Rural Community Council (ORCC) and

A Trustee of The Oxford Preservation Trust (OPT)

These are local charities.  The former is concerned with supporting the rural parts of the county while the latter is concerned with supporting the heritage of and around the City of Oxford

A Member of Brookes University Court

This is a consultative body, giving advice and support to Oxford Brookes University
