Adderbury Village is where I live.  It is a fine old ironstone village located some four miles south of Banbury and straddling the A4260.  The view here shows the High Street, looking west towards the parish church.

The primary school is Christopher Rawlins (C of E) Primary School and is located at the junction of the A4260 and the B4100.  The headmistress is Mrs Rose McCready.  This is the link to the web site: www.christopher-rawlins-school.org.uk

We have our own County Council Library which is located in Church House, Church Street.  It is open Tuesday  10.00am - 12.00pm and 3.00pm - 7.00pm; Thursday 2.00pm - 5.00pm and 6.00pm - 7.00pm; Friday 10.00am - 12.00pm and 2.00pm - 5pm; and Saturday 9.30am - 1.00pm.  The librarian is Mrs Sue Hitchens.

Your District Councillor is Cllr Rick Atkinson.  His address is 1 Lake Walk, Adderbury Oxon  OX17 3PF;  his 'phone number is 01295 812972;  his e-mail address is cllr.rick.atkinson@cherwell-dc.gov.uk.  Cherwell District Council deals with benefits (council tax and housing), economic development, environmental health, housing, planning, recreation and collects the council tax.  Here is the link to the Cherwell Web Site: www.cherwell-dc.gov.uk.

The Parish Council meets in Church House on the last Tuesday of most months.  The Chairman is Mrs Dianne Bratt ('phone: 01295 810212; e-mail: dianebratt@ukonline.co.uk) and the Clerk is Mrs Helena Scott ('phone: 01295 810708: e-mail:  adderburypc@hotmail.com).  This is the link to the Parish Council web site: www.adderburyparishcouncil.co.uk.

Planning Applications are decided by Cherwell District Council after seeking the Parish Council's view.  The District Council is bound by national, regional and county planning rules and is under huge pressure from the current government to encourage higher densities, less car use and, above all, to build more and more homes.  Click here for a list of Planning Applications currently under consideration by Cherwell: Planning

There is an Adderbury Village Web Sitewww.adderbury.org.

The village magazine is called Adderbury Contact and the editorial contact is Robin Birch ('phone: 01295 811975; e-mail: robin.birch1@btinternet.com).
